Garden View Cottage

2 BEDROOM COTTAGE

Stay with us in this charming 2-bedroom cottage with one king and one twin room, in the heart of the estate with views to the garden – available for a three, for or seven night stay. Recently refurbished to a high standard, country cottage, set in the historic Backhouse Rossie Estate with garden views from the living room, kitchen/diner and the two bedrooms.

Benefits include a free garden entry ticket for each guest. We also have the Backhouse Kitchen where you can come for breakfast, lunch and tea!

This cottage is detached and garden visitors do not come into cottage area. We will hand over the keys when you arrive and leave you to enjoy in peace!

Further Information

Falkland has many attractions including Falkland Palace, Outlander Trail along with charming village shops and cafes.

St. Andrews is a 30min drive (Golf and many attractions), Dundee is 30min drive (V&A Museum), Ellie 30min drive (beautiful seaside town) and Edinburgh is 50mins drive.

  • Nearest food shop, take away and chemist 1.7 miles distant in Village of Auchtermuchty.
  • Fife Cycle Path at the edge of estate.
  • Ladybank Train Station (5min drive or taxi).
  • Bus (to Stirling and St. Andrews from edge of estate.
  • Driving – easy access to/from cottage from main road.

  • Twin room has a large wardrobe with hanging space and chair.
  • Upstairs bathroom has a toilet, bath, sink with towel rail.

  • Downstairs bathroom has a toilet, shower and sink with towel rail.

  • Entrance hall has plenty of room for shoes.
  • There is no garden for this property – it has ample outside space for parking two cars.

  • Public Garden – entry is 10-4pm, (closed Saturdays and Tuesdays for weddings) from April to September. RHS partner garden with The Backhouse Kitchen on the estate.

Grieves Cottage is a charming retreat offering accommodation for up to 8 guests, featuring four beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms. The sleeping arrangements include two rooms with king-sized beds and two rooms with double beds, ensuring comfort and privacy for all guests. This cosy cottage blends traditional charm with modern amenities, providing a perfect getaway for families or groups of friends seeking a serene and comfortable stay.

You can book tickets for the gardens and special events, or you can arrange a tour of The Flower Barn, our weddings and events venue.

The Backhouse Kitchen (no garden ticket required), offers seasonal food and drinks and welcomes well behaved dogs on the patio.
