Your Perfect Day

At Backhouse Rossie, we offer a flexible barn wedding venue just steps away from our award-winning gardens, ideal for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies.

We also include plenty of extras to help you make the most of your budget, without compromising on style or experience.

Our adaptable spaces can accommodate up to 150 guests during the day and 160 in the evening, making it perfect for celebrating with all your favourite people.

We host weddings from April through to the end of October and off-peak October weddings are available at a reduced rate.

We offer venue show rounds all year, and couples who have already booked are very welcome to arrange additional visits during the closed season to help finalise plans and décor.

When you hire Backhouse Rossie as your wedding venue, you’ll have exclusive access to our beautiful spaces, giving you the freedom to create your dream wedding day, your way. Here’s everything that’s included to help make your celebration unforgettable:

Exclusive Spaces for Your Special Day

  • The rustic Flower Barn complex – A versatile space perfect for ceremonies, dining, and dancing.
  • The Old Stables (Café) patio area – Ideal for a relaxed drinks reception.
  • Walled Garden & Lawns – Stunning outdoor spaces with breathtaking views of the hills.
  • The Courtyard – A charming space with festoon lights, leading from the bar area. You can also hire the estate firepit with seating for cosy evening gatherings.
  • Fairy light tree stump feature – A magical addition for atmospheric photos and evening sparkle.

Support & Essentials for Your Big Day

  • Full support throughout your planning journey and on your wedding day.
  • Up to 100 ceremony/dining chairs for indoor use and 100 outdoor ceremony chairs (extra chairs available for hire).
  • 12 dining tables (additional tables available for hire).
  • Fairy light canopies and atmospheric lighting throughout the venue.
  • Indoor ceremony arch decorated with everlasting flowers and a signing table.
  • Handcrafted bar made from estate oak and spalted beech.
  • Two red leather sofas for cosy seating.
  • Whisky barrels (x2) for displaying your cake or card box.
  • Indoor PA system with two wireless microphones for speeches and background music.
  • WiFi access in the Main Barn.

Facilities to Keep Everything Running Smoothly

  • In-house kitchen for your professional caterer, complete with power, running water, and sinks.
  • Full toilet facilities, including an accessible toilet and baby-changing facilities.
  • Heating and electricity provided on your wedding day.

Flexible Access Times

  • Access from 9 am – 5 pm the day before your wedding for setup.
  • Clear-down access until 12 noon the day after your wedding.

Additional Perks

  • Informal outdoor seating in designated areas.
  • Private onsite car park and coach access (suitable for appropriately sized coaches).
  • A wide selection of props for hire to help personalise your day.

    • The Flower Barn – A charming setting for dining, dancing, and creating unforgettable memories.

  • Recommended Supplier List – We’ve carefully curated a list of trusted suppliers who know the venue inside out and offer services to suit a variety of budgets, so you’ll be in safe, experienced hands.
  • Dedicated Planning Meetings – We’ll meet with you at key milestones – six months, six weeks, and the day before your wedding, to ensure every detail is perfectly in place.
  • Venue Revisits – You’re welcome to revisit the venue in the lead-up to your big day to help with planning and final touches.
  • Helpful Templates – We provide example templates for guest itineraries and bride and groom schedules to ensure everything runs seamlessly on the day.
  • Props List Access – Need a last-minute addition? Our extensive props list is available to help you add those finishing touches for a truly memorable celebration.
